The GEFS ensembles over the next 10 days show very dry in the Midwest and Northern Plains as well as out west and very cold conditions east of the Rockies
But the cold pattern begins to break down in 10 days.
Euro says the same
Euro is more aggressive in bringing back warmer than normal conditions
Eric Snodgrass also believes that along with a warm upas we close out April and begin May we will see a return of storms and sever weather into the Midwest
He also says in the video that the La Nina is fading right now but the cold tong of water off of California is a negative PDO and that might have an impact on our summer in the Midwest bringing us drought and hot weather
We had some light frost in Indianapolis this morning, at least here on the north side. Looks it bottomed out at 35F. The sun is very quickly burning it off this morning. High near 60 today. Temps will mostly be in the upper 50s through the weekend but the NWS has removed any mention of rain. Just clouds hanging around. Much cooler next week with highs only in the 40s for Tuesday and Wednesday!
Some stations in Montenegro on higher elevation had mean temperatures for the first 14 days of April below 0c
- Žabljak (1446 m) -2.6c
- Kosanica (1215 m) -2.5c
- Njegovuđa (1300 m) -1.8c
- Kovren (960 m) -0.7c
Almost two o’clock in the afternoon here in the DFW metroplex and temperatures are struggling to reach 60 degrees. Had showers and thunderstorms earlier in the day, but right now it’s just grey and cool.
That probably feels bitter cold compared to what it has been in your location recently, No?
Yup... We had a good warm stretch. Feels like October today. Waiting for leaves to change colors now.
Collage of Tweets from this late season snowstorm in NY, VT, CT, & MA and even a snowy baseball field in Colorado. I'll have a few more later on. #AprilSnow April 16, 2021
About 5-6" of heavy, wet snow here in northern NH, but it stopped a while ago and is settling down into slop already. Now the forecast is for 70's on Tues. [I knew I shouldn't have put my winter jackets away last week.]
