Morning storms and cool air outflow stopped us from hitting 90 degrees today. It did turn sunny and warm in the afternoon. High was 88F here and at both Chicago airports. Supposedly more storms are blowing up in Wisconsin and heading into Northern Illinois. We'll see if they hold together

Western suburbs got hit last night

Woke up at 3:45AM to the sounds of thunder. Storms have been battering southern Chicagoland all night

Cooling off after today to the upper 70s low 80s but then possible another chance at some 90s by the end of next week

Supposedly the second half o August will be above normal here

Euro says heat will shift away from the PNW (finally)

Another day, another heat advisory. Yesterday afternoon storms just missed is to the north. More storms passing to the north right now and it looks like they'll mainly stay that way. We're at, I believe, day 25 with just a couple hundredths of an inch of rain in that time. Unfortunately what had been likely rain for tomorrow the last few days has now fallen to a 50/50 chance. Hopefully we get something as the next chance of rain after that isn't until Tuesday or Wednesday next week. At least the heat and humidity subside this weekend with highs only in the upper 70s as opposed to lower 90s. Dewpoints back in the 50s as opposed to the 70s.
