Another day, another heat advisory. Yesterday afternoon storms just missed is to the north. More storms passing to the north right now and it looks like they'll mainly stay that way. We're at, I believe, day 25 with just a couple hundredths of an inch of rain in that time. Unfortunately what had been likely rain for tomorrow the last few days has now fallen to a 50/50 chance. Hopefully we get something as the next chance of rain after that isn't until Tuesday or Wednesday next week. At least the heat and humidity subside this weekend with highs only in the upper 70s as opposed to lower 90s. Dewpoints back in the 50s as opposed to the 70s.
Inland areas always get more rain than my area right on the gulf. Anyone can look up rainfall records and see cities inland vs 1 mile from the gulf avg more rain year after year.
That's really interesting, I'm only 5 miles inland and it's barely under average for the year so far.
92f here right now with a 72f dew point. The good news is this is the last day of the 90's, then our temps go down to upper 70's/low 80's with more rain chances.
Morning storms tempered the heat again today the high at IKK was only 81 degrees and at the two City Airport it was 85 degrees. Pretty robust cool down tomorrow and latest guidance from the Euro says it will be over all cooler than normal here for much of the next 10 days. So much for a hot spell to end meteorological summer
