If it snowed in Yukon in September, it'll snow in Northern BC in October.

As others have said, it's not unusual at all. But it is the first major snowfall of the season for those places which is mildly interesting.

Still ongoing agreement in the models at upper levels supporting development of a possibly potent storm for the high plains next week.

However, much uncertainty about how cold the air will be at low levels and thus how much snow will fall. There's a good chance this will be a rain event with snow confined to high elevations. Stay tuned.

Some rain coming over the next 2 or 3 days. Temps in the low 80s away from the lakeshore this weekend

https://twitter.com/Skilling/status/...277340679?s=20

Minimum temps are more anomalous than the high so far this month thanks to extensive cloud cover the last couple days

big time ying and yang pattern in the 5 to 10 day. Chicago might see several more 80 degree days which could push this year's total close to the record

Btw we don't have a winter 2021-22 thread yet but if you're interested in what the Euro is currently showing for this up coming winter for both North America and Europe compared to the analog years Bam Weather has here you go

Wow the analogs for Europe look very cold. Same with the Western US. I wonder if they will verify or if the models will verify

Just getting hotter and hotter as the month goes on with no chances of cool weather. This has been the new norm since 2011. Lows are a insane 76f in the area and dews going back to mid 70's.

No way FL will be in the blue this winter. I buy the west being below normal but never FL.

The Euro always says that the West will be cold in the winter, they never predict a warm west and always predict a warm east for the DJF period
