We will be in West Palm for a week beginning April 24. Retirement is probably 2 years out; and, we’re attempting to narrow down where we’ll land in South Florida ( East Coast, for now).

We know Palm Beach County quite well but we would like to explore Martin County - Jupiter up to Stuart ( we think). We also know Vero Beach but Vero is probably too far north. Asking for recommendations for an agent or office that could provide some background and perhaps show us the areas and some properties during a morning or afternoon session. Leaning more toward a SFH rather than a condo, at this point. Consider beachside/ barrier island as well as slightly inland.

Of course we can do our research on Zillow and Realtor.com but would like some live input.

Also if you have any suggestions on this area, one town vs. another, pro’s & con’s, that would be appreciated, too. Not sure of our budget but we know it has to be sizable given the massive migration to Florida since the pandemic and the limited housing stock.

Reply here or PM/DM to City-Data. Thanks a lot. John

wasting everyones time.............2 yrs from now half these realtors will be back working as bartenders and the other half will be dead from old age.

Vero Beach = Zero Beach as in there is ZERO going on.

Jupiter is expensive
Stuart is getting there.

Hah-thanks for the reply.

Gotta start planning for a future event at some point - some realtors may express an interest.

Agreed Vero Beach is quiet but beautiful-my parents lived beachside. But we want to be further south just for that reason.

Still searching for some recommendations.

No decent realtor will take you seriously as your timeline is way too far out. Their biggest concern will be wasted time and suddenly the month its time to buy you use your distant cousin as your realtor despite them doing all the legwork. The other thing that will surely handicap you is when you see prices rise and you will get frustrated when you think back that you could have scooped that up last year for 50-100K less! Then you will get aggravated that its all overpriced.

North of Stuart- Don't rule out Jensen Beach as its cheaper and simply a ride over the bridge to get into downtown Stuart.

BTW what is your price point? That will probably encourage others to chime in.

Jensen Beach also has more single family homes near downtown Jensen and near the beach. Downtown Stuart is nice but there are not a lot of single family homes close to the downtown or close to the beach causeway, unless you count Sewall's Point. Downtown Stuart is bordered by the St Lucie River to the north, the south fork of the St. Lucie River to the west, the hospital to the east, local government offices to the south and the private airport to the southeast. So, there is not a lot of room for single family homes. Sewall's Point is worth considering if your budget starts at around $1 million.
