Lets begin to log in the sightings of Illegals working in the mountain state...

Not to be whistle blowers, but to help correct a situation. It will help to protect jobs and correct a situation so needed taxes can be gathered in for the great state of Wv.

(As I was having lunch yesterday, the waitress was telling me about the chinese who were working in Clarksburg and Fairmont for NO wages...just tips.

They were being housed in one house (15 of them at Fairmont and 17 at Clarksburg) and this room gratutiy, and the leftover food from the resturant where they worked, was exchanged for their wages.

Of course there was no written record for wages or tips.

I did not see this in the papers or TV because I do not read or watch them.)

If we can nip this illegal worker problem in the bud, we will not have the welfare pressure from them that exists in other states.

I'm 100% with you. I've seen them ruin entire towns in the Northeast. The biggest problems start when the females come and start having kids... the "anchor babies" that because of our stupid immigration laws automatically are citizens regardless of the status of the parents and are thus entitled to benefits on the backs of our already stressed taxpayers.

And Happy Thanksgiving to you! Can't you all give it a rest today?

And how are you going to recognize illegals? If you find them are you going to yell, "Citizens Arrest" Citizens Arrest"

I don't think we are at that extreme yet, unless it's in Huntington or Charleston.

An electrical contractor told me this story on Tuesday:

He was working a commercial job in Morgantown and some questionable people were hanging the dry-wall.
When the state inspector came on the job they all disapeared. When he left the job site, they returned and began their work again.

He asked his crew to keep their eyes open and see what was going on. Here's what they told him.

The dry-wall hangers had a watchman in a car parked across the street. When anybody with a state license plate came on the site, he would blink his headlights and blow the horn. That was the warning and they would hide.

When the inspector came around on Monday, the legal workers told him what was going on.
He came to inspect each day that week and stayed about 2 hours, but didn't catch any of the illegals.

The job was delayed because the dry-wall was not getting hung...another contractor was brought in to do their job. He had a license and workers comp and all the credentials.
As it should be.

The Rule of Law should apply to all.

What we need is a few inspectors who will work a weekend or two each month...and those need to have the power to arrest.

I think it is perfectly reasonable for the authorities to check the employment records of those suspected of hiring illegals, just as they do checks for every other type of criminal activity. Those who sneak in our back doors without permission are breaking the law. So are those who hire them. Both should be punished, and the illicits deported. We are a sovereign nation and have every right to defend our borders against intruders.

Perhaps you haven't seen first hand the damage the have done along the East Coast... overburdened social service systems financed by our taxpayers, freeloading educations again financed on the backs of Americans, and most importantly severely depressing the price of labor, driving down the wages of our people. Plus, instead of assimilating as did legal immigrants of the past, these people want special treatment in their own language and assail our culture by creating zones where Americans are actually in danger with the crime and violence that often accompanies them.

I don't think we can afford to give it a rest, but having noticed that you took time to comment on the issue it would seem you are not doing so either.

Actually, back in the 19th century, MOST immigrants didn't speak English in New York City. In fact, towards the end of the 19th century, English wasn't spoken by the majority of its citizens. Italian, Polish, Yiddish, and others were their only language. And violence has always followed poor imigrants. They are in a hostile place where nobody wants to give them work. They tend to gravitate towards crime. Just like the Irish and Italians before them, they will become less crime prone as more generations grow up here. The Irish were very violent are the time of the Civil War. Ever hear that poem, "Irish Need Not Apply?" And the Italians. The romanticized mafioso history explains itself. They were seen as second-tier citizen criminals, too. But after a while, that all just melted away. Their children assimilated, and they have totally melted into the American landscape.

The same will happen to Latinos.

I say we just annex Mexico and open our borders. All of the US "jobs" already are going overseas. And overseas, they only pay them pennies on the dollar. If we bring the workers to the US, at least they can demand minimum wage and other labor laws. Then they will not gravitate towards crime. They are going to come to the US no matter what. Nothing will stop them. Attempting it for this long has only led to failure.

Enforcing the existing laws is all that is needed.

America has a process for citizenship and our family has used that process for 5 members of our family.
(Germany, Philipines, Italy, Hungary, Australia)

The swearing of allegiance to this great nation is both moving and humble.

I have my ladies on video tape and it was done in Wheeling.

I thank God she has a dual citizenship and we can escape to her country if things get too bad here.

There are some socialist programs for unemployed, but I know how you feel about those.

Hope you find something soon.

Seriously, what do you do? I was just looking in the Beckley paper and I'm kind of surprised by the number of Help Wanted ads.
