With the Obamanation of the country, little effect has been met on West Virginia as of yet.
Could we begin listing the losing and creating of jobs in the mountain state?
+ Jobs at the Greenbrier...I would expect some hiring there for the summer season. low to moderate wage.
- Jobs lost (550) by Consol Energy in southern Wv. High wage and will effect other support industries. (market conditions and regulation)
Potential for Allegheny Power (300 office jobs, moderate wage) as the new office complex comes on line in Fairmont Tech Park.
Potential for UHC at Bridgeport as new hospital comes on line (3,500 jobs).
West Virginia school teachers retire in January of each year...usually at least 10 teaching slots and 10 managerial/service positions per county.
I believe you're going to see major job increases in Monongalia as
the energy research initiates take hold. Also, some company
located in Belmont County, Ohio (right across the river from Wheeling)
scored nearly $100 million in research dollars associated with the
energy research, which will be a big bost for that area.
With less than 5% unemployment, Monongalia is essentially at full
employment status. Here is a list of the current "unclassified"
job openings at WVU.
Hino Trucks is adding jobs it's plant in Williamstown and Fontaine is moving into the state to be beside Hino. The DOH placed an order for Hino trucks.
And did anybody mention that This is the time to go to school....
All Union Trades are looking for new Apprentices...Glass, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentery, ect...and how about that CDL...not a bad car to have in the wallet/purse..
Many truck drivers are women...great trannys and gear-boxes...and they'll scream every time on the strait-aways...
Look out, Mac...that's a red head at the wheel of that 16 wheeler...look up in the cab if you don't believe me...

Just curious why you're listing the job openings for WVU, you aren't "connected" in any way to the university are you?
I wouldn't mind getting a job with them and moving back to West Virginia.
