Moving to Westchester County, NY (Yonkers, White Plains: apartments, renting, condos)

I may be moving to Westchester County NY. Which neighborhood offers renting apts or condos that is also good for a single, mid 30's professional. I'm looking for an area that is nice, safe(where I can go jogging on the streets) and upscale but offers a good variety of shopping, dining, entertainment and access to the train into NYC. I have heard good things about Scarsdale, Rye and Larchmont. Thanks!

I would post this in NY/Westchester forum to get most responses. What are you looking to spend- how many bedrooms/sq footage?

The towns you describe are not really knows for having many apartments. They're mostly single-family homes. The real esate is expensive there as well.

However, they do have some apartments near the train stations. All of those three have easy commutes into the city.

White Plains - Great, Hartsdale, along E Hartsdale Ave. Garth Rd. in Scarsdale/Eastchester an the Bronxville/Yonkers/Tuckahoe area could work.
