Hello,
Why Hartsdale property is so high? especially with low performing schools? I see 700k houses with 20k+ property, especially now that houses will be reassessed at purchase price. With that tax bill, would it be more reasonable to look at Eastchester or Tuckaho ? at least you get a better school with that tax and still a good commute to city?
Hartsdale has property values on the lower end of the range for lower Westchester, with neither a high number of houses (e.g., Harrison) or a healthy dose of high value houses (e.g., Rye, Scarsdale) to make up for it. You still have to pay for the schools, so insisting on staying small and not merging with another small district will leave property taxes high.
