Hi everyone,

My BF and I are considering a move from NYC (upper westside) to Westchester. We are willing to drive a few minutes to the train station but we don't want to be more than a 30-45 min train ride to the city.

We also want a town with a low crime rate, but we are not very familiar with Westchester. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

your post is pretty open-ended. are you looking to purchase a house, condo, co-op, or rent? what is your budget? what are your housing wants/needs in terms of square-footage, amenities, etc.?

Thanks for the reply. We'd like to begin by renting a single-family house if possible (or a townhouse). In terms of living space - we need at least 2 bedrooms, preferably 3.

Re. amenities, we haven't really thought about it, since we're thinking of a single-family home, but we'd like a quiet neighborhood, with space to have a small garden or vegetable patch and proximity to Metro North.

What is your budget? That's going to determine where you can afford to live.

Default Try Pelham

It's close, safe, with good services, reasonable housing costs.
