Hi- My husband and I are considering buying a house in White Plains. We do not have any children yet but would like a town where our children will get a good education. I am not interested in a super competitive place (ie, Scarsdale). I understand that the schools are controvercial. Does anyone currently have a child in the school district? Or does anyone have any direct knowledge about the schools? We are looking to buy a 3 bedroom home in the mid 500s and the taxes in White Plains are so much lower than other areas in Westchester. We need to stay in lower Westchester for my husband's commute.
Any info on the White Plains schools or thoughts on other lower Westchester towns would be helpful.
