Google maps claims Erick's is permanently closed (?)

Maybe they shouldn't have "cut the cheese" so much in their place of business.

Nope. Erick's is definitely open at Shoppes at Grandfather (or Grandfather Center, whatever they call it), next door to the ABC store. I live less than two miles from that location and drive by it nearly every day. Google maps is WRONG.

There used to be a Quizno's Subs on the other side of Erick's. It IS closed, and that location is now Reid's Cafe. Maybe Google maps is confused.

Yes, you can buy wine at any grocery store, but not the local wines.

I think it may have moved? Google is showing a location on Hwy. 184 closer to Banner Elk as being closed, but is correctly showing them open on Hwy. 105 next to the ABC store.

Erick's Cheese & Wine - NC Wine and Cheese Store
They've been next to the ABC store for several years.

Glad they found a new location and will be "cutting the cheese" for years to come.

Peabody's in Boone is reported to be a pretty good bottle shop, too. The spouse used to hit it up years ago, but we haven't been in it in ages. I guess we get what we need at Ingles. http://peabodyswineandbeer.com

Blowing Rock Brewery has good beer at their location, but I'm not sure if their bottled brew is as good as the stuff they sell at the tap room. Maybe you should buy a 6-pack to sample first. :P

Asheville is the beer capital of the Southeast and some say the country (they've won the Beer City USA a buncha times). There are a number of excellent brews that come in 6 packs outta there. You should be able to find them locally in the High Country area, too. Green Man is distributed pretty widely. Highland Brewing Co is a regional brewer based in Asheville. You should be able to find that in any grocery store. It's all over the area and is very good beer, too. Oskar Blues is based in Brevard and again you should have no problem finding that. Excellent beer.

Not a new location. As I said, they've been in their present location for several years.
