Otherwise as Beckycat mentioned areas to the north like Woodfin puts you in a quieter area minutes from North Asheville and a bit further into downtown, minus loads of traffic which tends more to the south side in/around the Biltmore. If in budget, it would be pretty hard to beat Montford or a property up along Town Mountain Road or Beaverdam Road.
Town Mountain is spectacular. If had had lots of money, I would have a place there! I love Beaveram, too, almost bought there back in the day.

One of my faves for growth and country living yet easy access to 3 towns/cities in various directions: Mills River. Low taxes and plenty of shopping nearby, yet still in affordable Henderson County.

I would have voted for Black Mountain. It is scenic and has nice amenities like the public swimming lake. It is not touristy like Asheville. Your poll has it erroneously at "Black Forest", and it got no votes.

You didn’t mention your age. I love BM, but it’s too far from UNCA where I take classes at OLLI. That’s why I like North Asheville, but this area is very expensive.
