What day do you plan to move?
As soon as the house sells. The realtors are optimistic, based on recent sales in the area, that we will be SOLD within 60 days. Sure hope their optimism proves true

Freetohope started this thread by asking......."I wonder where other people from WI moved to and if they found the perfect place for them?!..."
Can we PLEASE stick to the topic?
It seems that every other post is just full of babble and bickering. If you don't have a contribution to make that applies to her question, take it elsewhere. It's beginning to sound like a gaggle of geese trying to out-squawk each other!!!

Who the hell are you to tell people what they can and can't post on here? You're not a moderator! BTW, what exactly have you contributed to this discussion?

I am moving in May from Rockford IL to WI because of the violence here. I have 17 year old twins and it is no longer safe for them to go to school here or walk down any street at night. There are no "good" neighboorhoods left. I am considering Baraboo WI because of the JR college and the job opportunities in the Dells for the kids. Should I be considering Stevens Point, Sauk, Tomah. I really dont know. All I know is I want a safe place for my kids.

I recommend Appleton and La Crosse as possibilities you should consider, as they are probably the nicest little metros in the whole state. Baraboo definitely has upsides too, such as its proximity to the Madison area as well as numerous state parks.

Can't go wrong with any of the three, though Tomah is pretty small and pretty isolated. Stevens Point is kind of isolated too but it's bigger and has a mid-sized state university there.
