Although I suspect a few people at my office have applied for jobs with letters like that. Only with more spelling errors, because they'd have been drunk at the time.

I sent a "cover letter" one time and it just said... " I could try to baffle you with B.S. and flowery prose in this cover letter but I prefer standing on the skills listed in my resume." Of course I didn't get an interview however I figured I would try something different. (plus I was only mildly interested in the job)
t started a new ad for my business on Craigslist after getting discouraged by the bottom feeders that were wasting my time thinking they could get me for 12 bucks an hour.
I placed this in my ad "Craigslist disclaimer - I charge rates that are in line with the annual rate survey for this service and my price is not negotiable. If you are looking for "cheap help" please do not respond."
I got tired of talking to idiots trying to determine what their problem is so I could give them a price quote only to find out they expected professional help for 12 bucks an hour.

It's fake apparently, But out of the box tactics have indeed been used. in a sea of resumes, cover letters standing out helps, But rarely to extremes.
Wartrace, I liked that sentence you used in the cover letter you sent for that juob. Just got to say. I think I would grant an interview to something like that as it would stand out and pique my curiosity.
