I just noticed my position on Monster. I don't know if it is mine or if someone will be working along side me. I doubt it since, I work nights and I am the only person here at night. Based upon on all the luck that I have had, I don't know what to do.

I don't want to wait until the last minute to get fired.

I don't want to ask the company if it is my job because I don't trust them and they can tell me anything.

Should I quietly look for another job now that is better than the one I have today just in case and never look back?

I think so.

Thoughts?

You should be looking for another job based on this fact alone.

Sorry, that would really get me down if that happened to me.

Yes, look for a job now while you have one. Try to save emails or employee reviews or positive things said about you. I would try to get a reference from someone at your current company. I think the other poster is right, this looks bad. Good luck and keep us posted on what happened.

Thanks, well at least the market is great here. The problem is convincing someone to pay you the same amount of money or more money than you are now making. That simply takes time.

I have been here less than 3 months as well (about a month less than the probation period). Due to my background, it takes less time for me to clear than other people. Once those folks clear, that is when I have to worry.

Maybe they are worried that I will back out and they are trying to build a "surge" in case I do.

I'll keep looking for work though, just in case.

I don't know how the Monster posts work, but is it possible they just never removed your job from when you were hired?

You sure it's your exact company and job?

I agree to save all copies of your reviews, even ask to see your employee files and pull out old reviews. Then from there just start looking, in case.

Have you been receiving LESS responsibilities? If so then it maybe your current position.

If not then you shouldn't have anything to worry about

Get your resume in order and start applying wherever you can NOW.

If they fire you, remember that you can collect unemployment if they can't prove that you engaged in gross misconduct.

Don't feel too bad if you get canned. Some workplaces are just toxic cesspools full of vicious, conniving characters. Getting fired may be a blessing in disguise.

I had no idea you were still on probation and since that is the case it maybe your job but hopefully it's not.

But like I said if you are doing less work then maybe it is your job.
