See this is why I had internships and on campus jobs to avoid these problems.

Law school is a losing proposition for a lot of people, so it is probably best that she has abandoned that idea.

When I graduated from college I asked my college job placement office (ha!) for help. They told me not to slam the door on the way out. I informed the college that they should save money by never sending me requests for money. I had to wait six years to find a job in my chosen field and during that time I worked in several other jobs.

The feeling of ultimate delight that I experience when I am ripping up money requests from this college is wonderful. They've wasted lots of money over the years sending these envelopes to me.

Bikini modeling is an option for females only. Construction work is mostly for males only. Gender is totally relevant.

LOL

Yes, this sounds like me. I majored in Criminology and Poli Sci in undergrad with the goal of law school. But I jumped that ship after speaking to a lawyer that I interned with who told me he was a brick layer for a year before he got a job at the Public Defender's Office. A BRICK LAYER!?! I heard enough after that. lol

Depending on what state you're in, corrections officers can make a decent living & get decent benefits too. She should check into that a a women's correctional facility, avoid men's facilities unless she's they type who's tough as nails, assertive, and has thick skin. They can often put in 25-30 yrs & retire with a nice state pension. The jobs are not too difficult to get if you have a clean record because not many people can handle dealing with the dregs of society every single day.

Definitely get out of the South if possible. Much higher crime in general, and public employees are paid peanuts! The TSA is usually hiring, you can survive on that pay. Tell your friend to make USA. GOV her new favorite website
