We do just fine here, profits are still made, companies thrive, and we do it all while treating the workers like human beings.
Sounds like you were in the right boat, leaving Wisconsin for Australia. In most of the 1st world working conditions are so much better, America should be doing so much better.

I said if we work, not that we did work. Labor costs represent a very small percentage of the cost of a vehicle.

Thanksgiving and Black Friday are not sacred, unless we want them to be.

Japanese vehicles are comparable in cost and yet they are non-union.

Explain that to me.

All those pesky car regulations and safety features... life would be better if there were zero regulations and we could buy new cars for just the cost of parts, amirite? Who needs people to design and build and test them?

I work in a call center for a cosmetic company. We were told if anyone took Black Friday off, they would be fired. In fact, the whole month of December and half of January are "blacked out". No approved days off at all.

Well that sucks, how many vacation days do you get every year? Do you get payed for then if you don’t use them?

Why on earth would you still be bloated on Friday? A turkey isn't a single serving. I don't understand why people eat until they're sickly for 2 days. Just because it's a holiday doesn't mean one needs to eat everything in sight.
Who says that we do not?

Our company actually lists this day on our holiday calendar, so while it may not be a holiday to you, to my company's HR, it counts. Sorry.
