if degrees are not job certificates then they are worthless you can't claim that universities are not job training centers and at the same time telling high school kids they must get university degrees or stuck in minimum wage jobs you can't have it both ways.

If you don't like a job posting, don't apply and move on. It's wasted energy dissecting why it doesn't make sense to you. It makes sense to the people doing the hiring. If you want their money, you meet their requirements.

Since it's for a temporary position, it can be an opportunity for a new grad (or someone who has been out of the workforce for some time) to get some experience to put on a resume. Use it as a stepping stone to something better.

What do you mean it isn't Seattle? It is Seattle and it is the Seattle minimum wage.

If you have issue with the $15 min wage push I see your point. I support wages based on area labor market.

The wage offered in this ad does not meet the Seattle labor market level.

who said college was a shortcut in life? You can't wave your degree around and have people roll out the red carpet for you

a degree is not a replacement for not doing anything for half a decade

Maybe they have less than 500 workers?

I'm sure they don't but with being a short term position highly unlikely they are paying towards benefits.

I'm a person that does the hiring in Seattle, it doesn't make sense.

More and more employers are requiring a Bachelor's degree for simple jobs that most people can do. On top of that they want to pay a low wage that most can't even live on. The sad part is, these companies will still get people applying but they won't be able to keep anyone long term cause soon as these people get offered a better paying position they will be gone!
However, if this is just for a temp position then it might not be bad. If one does well enough maybe they will be hired on at a higher wage.
