Funny how Euro's can bash the hell out of Americans, but the minute you come back at them, you get responses like yours and the one above.
Some of those descriptions are hilarious and to someone like me living in Philly so far off the mark. The Euro tourists that come thru here on the NYC, Philly, DC trips stick out like sore thumbs. They walk around Reading T market with the dumbest look on their faces, and honestly, some look seriously inbred to me with these giant ears sticking out like dumbo and little narrow shoulders. American men seem so much more broad shouldered than the average Brit or German. Not sure why. . Many of these Euro tourists are walking around eating ice cream and sweets and certainly look way out of shape.
Even myself, not very gung ho about the US and its many faults, am getting pretty tired of this constant bashing and insulting as if Europe is the land of the beautiful and pure. I like many things about the European lifestyle, but in the looks department I find Americans much more attractive.
Its just strange how we seem to stand out so much, here in the big tourist spots no one really gives tourist of a specific nationality any attention. But who knows maybe if there was a country out there more powerful than us with greater cultural contributions like America i would probably be more interested in what people from that country are like.

Nah that's not it. Trying not to sound offensive here, BUT the thing that makes American tourists stand out is volume of speech. Again NOT every American.
It's similar with Germans and Australians.
Get over it. We inbread Euros are just not interested in cracked bells and sandwiches. And that's pretty much what Philadelphia is about.

Anyway, to save everyone's time (every European and Canadian's time, that is), in future, when the topic of Americans comes up whether it is their apearance, habits, culture, or character, why waste time formulating your thoughts and putting them into writing when I shall provide a simple template based on the astute observations recorded in this thread.

Americans are loud, fat, vacuous, uncouth, uncultured, loudmouthed, obese backslappers with gobs full of half chewed food. They'll shoot you as soon as look at you, and probably eat your children because happy children remind them of Happy Meals, and their ravenous appetite ends only at the white sneakers and boldly printed tents they call clothes. Anything else is fair game and they will chew and chew with fat, round, expressionless faces. Until they break into great, meaningless slavering smiles and babble about something entirely unimportant like American or Americans. Of course they will be talking to themselves and not their chunky, baggy clothed compatriots because Americans are mentally damaged, fat, socially disengaged pyschopaths who don't even recognize their own poorly dressed, vacant eyed mothers after weaning.
