How far back in your ancestry to you need to go, to find an ancestor who was not born in the country of which you are now a citizen? (If you're not sure, make your best guess.)
Sorry, the poll templates are not set up to accommodate poll questions more complex than "What is your favorite ___?"
I guess it goes back 65 years to when i was born in England..
I would never have thought. I keep imagining everyone on here to be a 50 year old anglophone granny.
Haha.. life is full of surprises. I'd say that being from India and living on the east coast of the U.S. gives an interesting perspective on things. So many countries lie in the flight paths and stopovers between the two. I became curious about exploring many of these countries just by virtue of flying over them.
My mom has done our family's genealogy for 30 years. She's been able to trace back to Adam and Eve a couple of times using many resources.
She has found our family to be directed related to Richard Austin and the Littlefield family who settled in Charlestown, the oldest neighborhood in Boston, in 1638. I think this is the farthest back for our family for the US.

And my family were able to trace back to ,Oden and Thor... seriously, I'm related to Oden.
The Bible and other historical texts supply the information. It isn't difficult.
Guy, c'mon, you know as well as the rest of us that you're referring to a metaphorical creation myth from the near east, the entire earth including the indigenous peoples of the Americas, South Pacific and even places like Australia was not populated in the last six thousand years by the descendants of one couple from the Middle East, this is the 21st century and we know from literally all of archaeology that that's not how things went down.
