Past the western panhandle of FL forget about it, and above Daytona on the east coast forget about it. That is a tiny area with warm clear water compared to the entire Euro Med coast, Croatia, Agean Sea, etc.

CA has too cold water, and Hawaii is a tiny speck in the Pacific.

So yeah, we suck compared to Europe in the beaches department.

And imo, there is no mountain range anywhere in the US save maybe the Alaska range that can compare to the Alps. And the Alaska range just has no amenities and is just way too frigidly cold to enjoy.

Way too much of the US is just same same. The entire eastern 2/3 of the nation lacks any real dramatic scenery unless you like rolling farmland lol and loads of suburban sprawl.
Florida, Hawaii beaches>any european. Only Greece come close. Europe beaches are heavily overrated.
Alps, better than 10 times bigger rockies? lol

Much of Europe is also the same. Did you hear about the big european plain?

Mountains - Tie USA/China (remember that the himalayas is in the border with disputed territories)
Lakes - Bigs: USA, Smalls: China
Coastline - USA
Desert - Close, USA by a slight margin over China
Rivers - USA/China
Forests - Usa by a slight margin over Europe
Farmland - Europe
Tundra - USA
Tropical - Tie USA/China
Highlands - China

Overall
USA/China
Europe

I highly doubt that 10%, at most, of US beaches are overdeveloped! Also, there is no way either Europe or China beats the US in diversity of scenery. The US literally has it all while Europe and China lack a few things. Think of Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada; Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky as a sample of the diversity in scenery that the US has.

And please, lets not even go down the 'the US is the third largest country in the world' excuse and attempt at resting importance to the US's scenery diversity. Russia is even bigger and grossly lacks the diversity of scenery the US has. China, Australia, and Brazil are comparable to the contigous 48 states and they too lack the amount of diverse scenery of the US. Argentina covers an extensive area through various latitudes and it also lacks the amount of US sceneries.

The US is simply unbeatable when it comes to diversity of climate, vegetation, and scenery; and this is coming from someone that doesn't suffer from even an ounce of chauvinism.
Argentina does it very well for its size, and isn't comparable to the US in size like Australia or Brazil.

Europe got it all if you ask me. Beautiful and different landscapes combined with lots of history and many different cultures. Can't beat that.

Then what's the point of this conversation? Both China and Europe are densely populated, so your conclusion is set. Your involvement in this topic is meaningless.

Not to mention beautiful German towns that are incredibly clean and well maintained compared to here. The countryside is just so much nicer in Europe compared to here. And yes, I've been there and seen it compared to here. American countryside pales in comparison. Germany has amazing hiking trails which go right over farmlands. I'm impressed how the govt can obtain the private land from farmers for trails. That would never ever happen here with the whole "nobody tells me what to do" mentality. And farmers here would shudder at the idea of ordinary Americans walking across their land. You just have no idea until you have been in both places how very different the average American mindset is compared to the European when it comes to how a civilized society works.

This is my problem with these types of threads. They always get derailed by someone talking about history and culture. This thread is about pure nature.

How is my involvement with this topic meaningless? It is a fact that both China and Europe are densely populated and when you have areas of human population for a long time ecosystems and nature get destroyed. At one point in time China was much more beautiful than it is today.

Is this thread about nature and natural beauty or towns and farmland?

Btw you can't compare an entire continent to 2 countries

Europe smashes both the USA and China
in almost everything
including Landscape diversity

Hahaha wow. Sure you can when the two countries are larger in area than the whole continent. The USA destroys Europe in terms of landscape diversity it simply isn't even close. I think China and Europe are close but I would still definitely give it to China. Norway, Iceland and European Russia are the only countries that save Europe.
