But living in Brazil Rio wins hands down. The other cities that i mentioned above, violence is restricted to specific areas whereas in Rio everywhere you go, you are too close to Slums and violence

Are you sure!? I think Buenaventura's is higher. In any case Cali and Buenaventura (both in the same state by the way) I think have the most homicides.

This is not true.
For Brazil's standards, Rio is not that bad.

Mmm, I think Jamaican insecurity can affect tourists. 2 friends of mine have been victims of crime there, one almost got beat up by a gang.
