What misconceptions related to geography have you heard before

"Queens is suburban"
Compared to Downtown Manhattan yes, but other than that it's really not that suburban, except when it comes to public transportation which is admittedly horrible. That said Western Queens is made up of the densest zip codes in the US outside Manhattan, and Queens as a whole is denser than San Francisco, Philly, or Boston. Suburbia it is not

"Mexico is South America"
Nope, it's in the same continent as the US believe it or not. It's not Central America either, and culturally only the southern states of Mexico are close to being Central American

"-stan countries are Arabic"
In reality not a single stan country speaks Arabic, instead five of them do have russian as a national or common language. And no, Iran is not Arabic either

"Jewish people are all European and have names ending in -berg or -stein"
Actually Jewish people are very diverse, with many Jewish people living in places such as Iran, Uzbekistan, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, and even Panama

- That Taiwan is Thailand and the capital of Taiwan is Bangkok. This has happened a lot.

- That people in Austria don't speak German.

"Half of India is muslim, especially those that live near Pakistan"

-Only 15% of India is muslim and most of them live in the Northeast near Bangladesh.

These 3 provinces all border Pakistan (Muslim population in %):
Gujarat 10%
Rajasthan 9%
Punjab 2%

Somebody I met in Italy once seemed to think that everywhere in England north of Manchester was really mountainous and covered in dense forest with snow on the ground for half the year, and most of the few people living there tend to have blonde hair and blue eyes.

That the UK is rainier on the whole than any Italian city and that London is much colder in winter than Milan or Turin. Both are of course not true, i think most Italians haven't figured out British weather and the Gulf Stream yet.

I have also heard people who thought that the USA are at the same latitude as Europe and worst of all i had one of my friends tell me (in a quiz we had arranged) that Casablanca was in the USA

That Amsterdam and Berlin are more southerly than here, which is of course false.

Not just geographical (though also geographical) but what irritates me the most is when people, usually those from Western countries divide Eastern Europe to "pro-Russian" and "pro-Western". In fact, I wish BOTH the West and Russia go to hell, this is not 1989 anymore, nobody is divided between questions like "Should I immigrate to Moscow, or should I pick London/Berlin?". Not to mention how "eastern europe" can't exist as there is no geographical border, unlike Mexico between South/North America or the Urals between Europe and Asia.

A region doesn't need to have a geographical border.
Where is the "geographical border" between Western and Eastern Asia?

That's why I wrote "not to mention". Not saying only geographical boundaries define cultures. But lack of geographical division further blurs the concept.
