Skunk
Every year in May a mother skunk has a litter
when they are born they are such a cute critter.
Mama skunks has usually three to five kits
they are for her a paw full of wits.

The first few month they stay in their den
waiting for Mama while watching wild roaming hen.
Curiosity among them is big
occasionally they feel a bite from a tick.

One day Mama says let's go
we will roam with the flow.
Oh my,their eyes wide open and wondering
still timid and pondering.

The forest is a huge place to be
just alone those tall magic tree.
They run after Mama barely able to catch up with her
with their tail up and and their scruffy fur.

Mama skunk reaches a brook
turning around to her kits for a safe look.
By now the kits are thirsty and sleepy
one little kit is becoming weepy.

Hungry they are for sure
Mama skunk has feeding routine to endure.
Once all fed and happy
they no longer felt crabby.

Time to head home in their safe den
now that they had their first taste of their outside play pen.
They curled up beside their Mama safe
and Mama skunk licked them for she felt they were brave.

Default *My darling J and K*

Two precious souls we have lost
I am asking myself at what cost.
The young parents so proud to be
their faces were full of glee.

It is so hard to comprehend
Wherever my family looks we cannot find the end.
We are in so deep loss and grief
our words are short and brief.

First you have to grief
in order to understand why they had to leave.
The hearts are weighing heavy
like rainy foliage leavy.

A spiritual journey is next on the way
Angels leading us all the way.
Time and more time will heal all sorrow
and slowly we move towards tomorrow.

By now God has the two beautiful souls in his palm
and they are in a peaceful realm.
Nothing will hurt them ever again
now and forever then.

K and J are now on the beautiful meadow of my dream
with other children all happy and full of gleam.
They will wait patiently til their Mama and Papa meet up with them
for they are part of their tree stem.

Just know my sweet darlings you are so truly missed
how much we all would have loved you to be kissed.
J and K you will be forever in our hearts and soul
for you have played in our lives such a huge role.

Mama and Papa and Omi and Opapa will always cherish you
as far as there is ocean so blue.
As many stars in heaven you see
Until we meet up with thee.

Default Dawn

Lotti was only 4 years old
so my Papa the Forest Ranger told.
One afternoon he brought home a young fawn
it was so beautiful Papa named it Dawn.

Our dogs Harry and Xarri greeted him
his figure so tall and slim.
He entered our garden
and almost fell over Xarri and saying,,I beg your pardon.''

,,Lotti''he called several times out loud
and me little came running out so proud.
My face always gleaming
no this time I was not dreaming.

I asked Papa ,,you bring a fawn''?
,,yes his mother was killed at dawn.
Lotti you and I will raise this deer.
it need's our help it is so clear''.

I pushed my doll wagon aside right away
to clear and make space on my way.
We put Dawn in a little cage
and it was sniffling at our sage.

I learned how to bottle feed
it was so hungry, full of greed.
Dawn was always happy to see me
it never ran or flee.

Month's have past and it became strong
it accompanied us and followed along.
One day we walked with it through the forest deep
as it took for us it's final leap.

It had found a herd to join
it flipped and kicked like a coin.
Dawn sniffled at me one more time to say good bye
I was sad but Papa wanted it to leave and try.

Lotti took her fathers big hand and we turned around
heading home wards bound.
I looked at the empty cage and I had tears in my eyes
Papa picked me gently up and wiped my tears and I waved bye byes.

Default Little girl

Long time ago lived a little girl in a beautiful house
surrounded by animals including a mouse
her family lived in the countryside
where they never had any plight
the little girls name was Lotti
and she had a little pony named Trotti
she was the daughter of a Forest Ranger named Joe
he took care of the forest so long ago
their house was situated in a village of not many people
one could see from the hill the church steeple
little Lotti was 4 years old when Papa took her for long excursions in the forest deep
both had to climb hills steep
sometimes Papa brought home a fawn
one was named Dawn
other times a sick or injured deer
it felt so frail and full of fear
one time Papa brought 5 little baby wild pigs
their mother was killed in a road hit and mix
Lotti helped bottle feeding so many times
never obeying mother's ring from the chimes
she felt always happy and never went away
for she had so many little animal friends to play
Life was good to be outside all day
sometimes friends came with food on a tray
Friends and Lotti were playing and running through the fields
in the southern Bavarian shield

Default *Love,Hope and Faith*

Love is a splendor thing
it can be just a call and a ring.
Holding each other in your arms
and feeling the other's charms.

With Love comes Hope
for some it can go away like wet soap.
Hope is given by God
and all his love for us is in one pot.

When we struggle or suffer in times
His voice will sound in chimes.
He is here to help us overcome pain
and his voice and power is never in vain.

With Faith comes Love
like a beautiful white dove.
No matter what pain we go through
Dear Father in Heaven will see it through.

Beginnings

Ranked amongst the billions of them
An unsung sorrow that casted
waves of fear and doubt
to an already embittered sea
I took a leap of faith
And gathered myself to be with you

I'll post the link to my mystery novel in progress, because why not. If anyone is interested to critique what I've got so far, have at it.

Default *Happiness*

Fresh mountain air and sun rays
those I remember all those days.
Way up in the sky
wild prey circling and flying so high .

Looking for prey everywhere around
heading at times to their nest where eaglets to be found.
The day was full of splendor
and animals rearing their young tender.

One could see mother deer
on a special day so clear.
Fawns were jumping all over
and tasting the fresh clover.

Wild hares chasing each other
nobody felt a bother.
Butterflies flying to find flowers
feeding on nectar with full powers.

Bees and bumble bees humming away
happily and full in play.
Wild flowers everywhere in sight
a beautiful picture one wants to hold on tight.

The sun was shining bright
and over a brook a lovely light.
The water was coming from the mountain down
as if it was unveiling it's long beautiful gown.

The place was so at peace
except in the distance the passing Canadian geese.
The air smelled from the flowers so sweet
ach it was such a treat.

That's how life should be
that's how one should feel you and me.
Happiness is a splendor thing
for all of us have to support and bring!

Default Africa

Long time ago when I was ten
we were all invited to a trip to Africa by Uncle Glen.
We were an extended family of thirty people to come
and Africa warned neighboring villages with jungle drums.

We arrived in Rhodesia now Zimbabwe called
remembering the jeeps always stalled.
We had family living there on big farms
the plantations were full of charms.

I remember visiting an Elephant Sanctuary there
some of my cousins did not dare.
I was excited to see orphaned Elephant calf's
I was so happy and loved to laugh.

The Elephant keepers took me with them for a walk
and they explained and did a lot of talk.
Elephants young and old
lived their life's on this Sanctuary and never were sold.

Some days I saw them bathing in mud
across the fields I saw hey huts.
Red Termite ant hills all over the Savanna
watching us from the distance a lion cup named Hannah.

I was allowed to bottle feed a baby orphaned lion cup
she loved to take a bath in a tub.
Little Elephant calf's loved to play ball
some were little some were tall.

A memory I cherished for all of my years
it was a trip with all my dears.
We learned how to play an African bush drum
But I was out of beat and dumb.

We children were given as a gift a drum each
and I still have it and play it on the beach.
Exciting wild animals we saw on the way
not closed up just running free to play.

I remember women wearing beautiful colored gowns
when we strolled through the towns.
Stands everywhere to see
jewelry and art work a fun place to be.

One day we took a boat ride in skinny canoes made out of wood
our parents were scared and did not know if they could.
Crocodiles we saw in the river
and it made us all shiver.

But it was the only way to see Natures beauty
we saw Rangers with guns on duty.
Once again an experience one of a kind
and the whole trip after all these years is still fresh in my mind.

That's hilarious! "Run for your lives, the tourists are coming, whole mobs of 'em!"
