From Hiawatha by Longfellow as quoted by Katharine Hepburn's character in Desk Set.
(Where she lived)
By the shores of Gitche Gumee,
By the shining Big-Sea-Water,
Stood the wigwam of Nokomis,
Daughter of the Moon, Nokomis.
Later a description of a lightening bug:
Little, flitting, white-fire insect,
Little, dancing, white-fire creature,
Light me with your little candle,
Ere upon my bed I lay me,
Ere in sleep I close my eyelids!
Such is life. I love it. And now, thanks to CD, I know how to spell it. The French classes were filled, so I took German in high school, because my best friend was in that class. I wish I had taken Spanish.
I like the word "kartoffelkopf." Herr Kartoffelkopf=Mister Potatohead.
Does anyone know how Lon Chaney came to be "The Man of a Thousand Faces?" I found out in a film class I took. Interesting back story on one of my favorite old-time actors.
