I also like many of the ways that the Brits express themselves.
The first time that I was in London, I was amused by the Way Out signs, but the signs that I most liked were the ones in The Underground, reading, "Mind The Gap".
In case you are not familiar with those signs, they appear on Underground platforms where there is a larger gap than usual between the trains and the edge of the platform.
And, to be, "Declared Redundant", just sounds so much more civilized than, "he was laid-off", or, "he was fired".
I like this one on the upper level of the buses in London:

Found an elderly lady totally clueless as to where she was. Got her to her location 35 miles in the other direction to safety.
I think a lot of these are found only when they run out of gas.
