Front quarters, hind quarters. It makes sense to me. I've heard 'hinders' as a similar contraction, often used with 'fronters'.
Don't I've ever heard of either of those.
I've always assumed that "heinie" is a shortened form of "behind", with no counterpart for the front (unless it would be "front quarters"). It's probably a regional thing.
Actually, I thought the spelling was "hiney" ... but the dictionary says I was wrong.
