A few bricks shy of a load.

A couple cans short of a six pack.

A few fries short of a Happy Meal.

I love these insults!

The elevator doesn't go all the way to the top.

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer. In fact, more like the wooden spoon that keeps getting stuck in the garbage disposal.
(I tried to find an attribution for this (it was supposedly said about Bush jr), but just got references to the first part. Cut out the knife references, and I got advice on fixing garbage disposals.)

(from Dr. Seuss "Horton Hears a Who")

Good stuff, Dr. Seuss. I think I like "The Butter Battle Book" best.

"I yam what I yam and that's all what I yam."
Popeye the sailor man.

Upthread I posted another favorite of mine, "To thine own self be true." I think's Popeye's ditty has a similar message.

Another pair of sayings that boil down to the sane meaning:

Sufficient unto the day are the troubles thereof.
and
Don't go borrowing trouble.

Overheard on a TV weather forecast:

It's Easter this morning and it's "sunny for the bunny".
