You often see road signs that really make you laugh. Can you think of any you've seen?
One that bothers me and I see it often is a sign that says: "Drive Safe".
Isn't safe an adjective? So, shouldn't it say: "Drive safely"?
A great one that makes you chuckle is along I-90 east of Mitchell, SD which advertises a local garage and towing service. The sign says: "Dick's Toe Service".
In the western part of Ireland, my wife (who speaks no Irish) saw heavy painted words on the road before her leading into Dingle: GO MALL. "There's a mall in Dingle? I thought you said it was small!" she remonstrated. I had to explain to her that go mall is Irish for SLOW.

One of the car insurance companies has a sign "Drive savely"!
Ha ha, there is a 'slow children' sign just a couple of blocks away. I'd never really thought about it. Thanks to this thread, I'll feel sorry for those children as I pass by from now on. Poor little guys...
I have, on occasion, made light of the 'shoulder work' signs along the highway. I envision a group of surgeons in a MASH tent.
The "Slow Children" sign always makes me cringe .....
Me, too.
Then there is the sign near the playgrounds that depicts two children on a seesaw, one side up and the other side down.
Does that mean "Unbalanced Children?"
