I remember in maybe ninth grade, I had to do a presentation in my science class on oranisms. It included a poster with pictures to be put up in the main hallway of the school. I finished mine at the last possible second, and taped it up next to all the others thinking " thank god that's finally done". The next day the poster was sitting back on my desk face down. Apparently I had forgotten two very important letters in the title to my poster. Instead of Organisms? Orgasms...now remember back to your early high school years, how mortified would you have been??? lol. To this day if I have to write that word I sound it out after I've written it.....just to be sure

Just received a letter from a realtor. It said, "Are you tired of the Bank's making all the money while paying you 1/2 % on your savings? I visited a Bank last week that acted like they were doing me a favor offering me ...."

Why don't they have anyone proofread their solicitations before they send them out?

I'm itching to say this...

How about those people who use the word "itch" instead of "scratch". As in "I got a bug bite and I've been itching it all day."

Real estate is full of errors like that for whatever reason.

I remember looking at a listing that said the home had Jealousy windows.

Yes, they will make the neighbors jealous.

Or maybe jealous spouses can peer in and spy on their husbands and wives.

I'm not sure that is wrong. There could be either of two meanings, and if it refers to a singular bank, the possessive could be correct in one sense.

Think of "I'm tired of your dog's barking, and of your loud music"---it is the barking and the music that I'm tired of, and the possessives of the dog and you are appropriate.

The common noun "bank" with a capital 'B" in the middle of a sentence? In addition, why would one bank be making all the money? "I visited a bank last week that acted like they were doing me a favor...." If it were a singular bank, "they" is incorrect. (And does an inanimate object hand out favors?) Unfortunately, the whole letter was filled with errors...
