The one that's killing me this week is the influx of people in the Exercise forum saying things like "I weight myself in the morning" and "I weight more than usual." I don't know if this is as annoying as "I need to loose weight," but it's getting there.

These are probably the same people who say that they have a, "tone", body, instead of a, "toned", body.

All of the following comments appeared within the last ten posts in a thread in the Education forum, about the benefits of going to college, in which the OP qualified his remarks with "(note, if there are spelling/grammatical issues, I was not an English major, ha ha!)"
Some comments about the value of college education were as follows:
The skills that were need were critical thinking and articulation. . . . But then what the hell are you going to college in the first place?
A college education will open more doors for better paying jobs then without.
That and most jobs want that as a like to have, with at least two years of experience.
Being a master of something from Google is a blessing a curse. There aren't many tests to prove you right but you can learn a lot of things in a quick amount of time.
The problem I foresee is what jobs are going to still exist in the U.S. in 3 or 4 years.?????

I frequently observe similar disturbing examples of poor English usage in local blogs, whenever the topic of education comes up. More often than not, it seems that the folks who hold themselves out as experts on education are those who show little evidence of having obtained enough education.
Hmmm...40 Acers for Sal sounds like the title of a book about a guy who acquires 40 low-cost laptops.
I wonder if John Hersey, the author of A Bell For Adano, would have written a book with that title if he was still alive today.
