Sorry if that's already been posted, it's an old thread but someone must have made a recent comment. I couldn't help but look to see if anyone addressed "statue". FIRST comment so yay for that.
It pains me on a daily - no make that moment by moment - basis to see how the written word has disintegrated.
During tonight's 5:00 local news, the crawl at the bottom of the screen stated, Coming up--The Jackson's Rehearsal.
It turned out that they were referring to a rehearsal involving the remaining Jackson brothers.
Apparently whoever writes the text for that crawl is not aware of the concept of plural possessives.
Old fart alert: Just a couple that bugged me today. Listening to the local sports radio, one announcer to another, I like the cut of your jib. The other guy said, What are talking about? I guess they didn't teach that in announcer school. Same station a few hours later a caller said He could care less, the announcer corrected him. That one really bugs me.
And working with a 20 something last week, I commented on his sartorial splendor. He thought I was from the moon.
Irregardless.
