From one of the stellar intellects who posts in the NJ Forum:

"If there are things that medicare should be proud of are there are so much frauds and so much more paper works. There are news coming out every day..."

And, before you ask...yes, this person is one who holds herself out as being quite the expert on the topic of education. I wonder if she is giving her kids the...benefit...of being home-schooled.

Retriever, funny you should mention that because the person on whose page it was posted actually does home-school her brood. Well, she doesn't send her kids to school. I'm pretty sure she doesn't *teach* them much. She also doesn't "believe in science." She is a creationist who writes things like, "To blessed to be stressed. New levil, new devil." She also doesn't have a clue about "your" and "you're." Aren't those children lucky to not have to go to school? *eye roll.*

If you are talking about a pair of legs, it is legs, not leg's.

Let me say this again: A PLURAL DOES NOT REQUIRE AN APOSTROPHE! YOU JUST ADD THE DANG 'S' OR 'ES', AND LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE!

While I have your attention, people of the internet, there is NO apostrophe in 80s, or 90s, or 70s. When you are referring to music from 1980 to 1989, you can write, "music from the 80s". NO! APOSTROPHE!

"I Love the 80s" NOT "I Love the 80's". There is NO apostrophe. For the love of GOD, just STOP with the apostrophe abuse already.

Driving Me Nuts (not Nut's)
Cat is what? Dog is what? I don't understand.

I proofread the newsletters for a friend's business. In the title of his company is the word "Vacuum's". Month after month, I ask him "Vacuum is what?". He tells me he can't change it, which I don't understand, but I'm just doing my job.

BTW-there are expeptions to the no-apostrophe rule. But in general I tell people that if they think they need an apostrophe, they're probably wrong!

Or maybe instead of dreweling, they meant creweling? It's kind of a stretch, I know - but the whole notion of someone using needlework (a sampler, in effect) for purposes of mass communication is just - quaint, is the word, I think. It's like someone posting a flier - hand printing up a sheet, taking a stapler, & posting it on every available pole for the public to be informed. This is actually done still for missing pets and so on.

For more urgent issues, I think we tend to use social media on the Internet, etc. But posting a bill was cutting-edge tech back in Colonial days in the British colonies in N. America.

If one views medicines as soldiers doing battle, this makes sense.
