Another example of mixing question marks and periods improperly, from the Myrtle Beach forum:

BTW I do not subscribe to any news paper? Is it advisable to subscribe to newspaper just to get coupons.

When I see this I want to ask the poster why they are asking us if they do not subscribe to a newspaper.

Some people routinely speak this way, with the voice ending on a higher note suggesting a question instead of a statement? As if they're unsure of what they just said and are waiting for confirmation?

One of my former co-workers spoke like that, and virtually every time that she opened her mouth, another staffer--to her credit--would respond by asking, "Are you asking us or telling us, Kathy?"

Luckily, we got rid of Kathy after a couple of years...
