Here's an excerpt from a news article:

"When I got up close to them, I said to my sister, 'Aw gosh there's something dead in them things. I said them things are loaded with flies, I ain't stopping,' so I just kept on going," said *** ********

These comments are from the same thread about some baby birds:

"This is one of those sayings, so ugly there cute."

"So ugly their cute !"

Third time's the charm:

"I think they're precious."

The first two posters had some trouble. Hopefully they noticed the correct usage by Poster #3. Ha! I crack myself up. That's not happening.

This was part of a full-page newspaper ad for a Father's Day dinner.

The second example is correct, IMHO.
In that example, "time's" is a contraction for "time is", and is not a possessive.

However, I think that the expressions is usually stated as "Third time's a charm".
What did you perceive to be the mistake in the second example?

The three phrases in quotes are the extracted posts. "Third time's..." is commentary.

That possessive for plural drives me bonkers - it's rampant where I live.
