I work in a library, and I have a coworker who constantly says, "liberry." She has a Masters degree, and yet, "liberry."

I laughed so hard when I read that one word! I saw the Pink Panther in the attic.

I copied and pasted from a real employment agency. Even I can spell this word without spell check.

Well, wasn't me, didn't follow the Amanda Knox story. If it weren't for spell check...

Great thread, haha. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but I keep hearing people say "I was kind of taken back by it." Taken aback! Taken aback!

While reading a well-known website earlier this week, someone mentioned they were going to get their dog 'spade'. I howled!

Our wedding planner said, "pitcher" for "picture." Drove me nuts.

or when people say "I could care less." It's "I COULDN'T care less."
That one drives me nut's. <<<haha.

I'll never forget a sign I saw once that advertised pizza slices for "$.50 cents a slice". I wanted to go in and hand them a penny cut in half and ask for a piece.

Great thread, would read it all but 51 pages is too much even for me.

I browse craigslist a lot, and the misspellings there are both perplexing and humorous. I searched this thread and noticed that a couple of other people notice these, but here they are anyway.

"Dinning" for dining - I think I see this spelling more than the correct spelling. There used to be a restaurant in Tustin or Santa Ana, CA, right next to the freeway, with a huge painted sign that said "Family Restaurant Dinning" and I just thought, how could you not check the spelling before you painted that on your restaurant?

On that note, this is a restaurant in Manchester, NH, that I had to take a picture of their misspelling of Mandarin for posterity. I might give them a break on a menu or something, but, again, on a sign?

"Rod" iron - I cannot believe how often I see this spelling for wrought.

"Otterman" - I see this too, all the time, for ottoman. I also have seen automan and other strange spellings.

I just saw this one last night - "sopha" for sofa.

And yes, I'm certain I may have made a typo in this post, it happens every time I talk about this subject.
