If it is, there are those in certain states that think that is weird-to-insane. Wife and I don't think that way, but we are very "pro" to farmers/ranchers in any state.
You're weird

I had firearms in my truck - never loaded but a magazine close at hand. Never had them fully exposed - too many idiots that would break a window to steal it. But my dawg would have chewed on them for a while before they got that close.

Not "weird", just asking. Back in the mid 90's, I drove thru Boseman and Billings Montana and see some pickup trucks with rifle (lever-action) sitting in a gun rack. During the same time, I was also in Cheyenne and seen the same thing.

Only other time I seen this was in movies.

Was also common in Loveland in the 1960's and 70's (Guns in trucks in the HS parking lot)

So what's your point? You don't have to live here or there

Is that the same gun you and she shared ownership? Remember, that's the gun you keep unloaded and in a locked place.

Totally common in the SE Us, Rural PA, the upper Midwest, Texas, and so forth. Even in the suburbs of DC just a few decades ago.

All of ours are unloaded, trigger lock and locked in a gun cabinet. However, ammo clips are full, sitting in the cabinet.

See no need to have a loaded/unlocked gun. Have never lived anywhere that crime was that bad.

Haha I'm from Texas and get this question all the time.

No, not everyone dresses like a cowboy. I haven't had my Tony Lamas on in a year or so.
