Don't mess with Wyomites and their firearms is my understanding. Idaho is another state but that state has more guns than people which is fine.
The only other faction I'm aware of is the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints that practice polygamy. The LDS church banned polygamy long ago. Faction may not even be the right word here.

Ok then now I remember hearing about that some time ago about Mormons aka: LDS.

Wyoming is super-libertarian.

& All the women are cowgirls. Straight up. Jeans and boots wearing, gun-handling, hand rolled cig smoking ranch hand women.

The land there has gone up in price. Be warned. The influx of monied new residents that upset the locals of Montana are now buying up Wyoming.

Not trying to discourage you. Just a fair warning. Wyoming is one of the few places where the Old Wild West still exists....In all it's beauty and power.

Or as we love to say, "Montucky"

(Like Kentucky, Montana is a huge state with not many people living in it. At least in close proximity to each other.)

The Romantic view of the wild West is nice, but the reality is tough (having to use literal outhouses or port a potties, dive bars where you can get beaten to death over nonsense, cattle rustlers, wildlife that will gleefully kill you....)

I have to ask, what did you do to the Mormons that made them so upset?

Lastly, visit Wyoming before you relocate. The wackiness has to be experienced first before you choose to live there. I liked it but I'm a "child of the West" so I was unfazed by the weirdness of life there.

The official name of the Church you have been referring to as the "Mormon Church" is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There actually is no such thing as the "Mormon Church."

I think if I had to box up my politics the closest thing that I would be labeled as would be a libertarian, although I dont claim to be one.

The price of land is shooting up accross the country. In Texas, we had a bunch of Californians buying up Hill Country outside of Austin. Prices are insane. I've got just over 200 acres in west Texas, and I'd like to jump on some land in Wyoming (maybe Montana), and Florida while the prices are still in reach. The way things are going, in 10-15 years I will likely be priced out for any sizeable offering.

There were definitely more people (men and women) in their 20s and 30s in Sheridan than in Bighorn or Buffalo, some seemed single and others seemed to be coupled up. I expect Casper would have even more given there is more industry and services there for people in that age group.

Some others you didn't mention but that I have experience in- I haven't spent much time in Cody but seems Sheridan-like demographic and religious-wise. Pinedale is really cute, did not notice a Mormon presence but skews much older demographically. I have more experience living in Jackson, where you will also find single people in their 20s and 30s, mostly part-year or full time service and hospitality industry workers though some commute in from Idaho.
Id like to visit Sheridan and the Casper areas, seems hopeful. Jackson is out of my price range, but would be great with the proximity to the parks.
