Based on what almost everybody said about Fort Mill, it sounds like a wonderful place to live. But the enrollment freeze at some elementary schools and a post about preschools filling up quickly make me nervous about looking to relocate to FM. Any thoughts on the issue of overcrowding? Thanks.

It's a fact of life in the Charlotte area. Especially Fort Mill, where the schools are excellent and the taxes are low and will be getting lower. The positive side is that Fort Mill does cap their enrollment, as opposed to adding trailer after trailer for classrooms, and they seem to be proactive in managing their growth, as opposed to Meck County.

Ditto!...to all the above

...and to the original poster

my children are in the elementary and middle schools within FMSD...and even with the amazing amount of growth that we have had...and will continue to have...it has not effected the quality of education that my children are receiving.

I highly suggest that you come down and see for yourself (if times permits...call the school and schedule a tour).

Best of luck to you!
