Description: This large gym with cardio equipment, weights, boxing ring, boxing bags, and wrestling mat specializes in boxing and kickboxing training. Description: Part of Coronado National Forest, the Cave of the Bells with its underground lake is located in Sawmill Canyon at the end of a 4-wheel-drive road on the eastern slopes of the Santa Rita Mountains. The cave entrance is gated and protected, accessible only with a key that is available in Tucson at the Coronado National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 300 W. Congress St. A $100 refundable deposit is required. Call for detailed directions or check the website.

Description: Located at the end of the Coronado Cave Trail (0.75 mile one-way) in Coronado National Memorial, this is a live cave with tunnels, stalagmites, and stalactites that is easy to explore. Two flashlights per person are required; helmets are optional. To enter the cave you must get a free visitor’s permit at the visitor center. Take I-10 east and exit south on Highway 90 to Sierra Vista, then south on Highway 92 to S. Coronado Memorial Drive. (From Bisbee take Highway 92 west.) Follow S. Coronado Memorial Drive 5 miles to the visitor center.

Description: This state park north of the city is ideal for family hikes. The elevation changes are minimal, while still offering some great views and desert scenery. Several well-marked trails can be found in the park area. The Canyon Loop Trail is a 2.3-mile loop trail from the main trailhead. It goes through some of the lower foothills of the Santa Catalinas. There are several other options, including the Romero Canyon Trail, which leads into Pusch Ridge, and the Sutherland Trail, which heads into Cargodera Canyon.
