Description: In the same spot since 1977, this gift shop is a tourist favorite, and inside you’ll find all manner of crafts and souvenirs. You can find the balsam pillows and the handpainted slate welcome signs you might expect in a Maine resort town gift store, but you’ll also come across some items that are a step up from that, like Anne Kilham’s always tasteful cards, cool wooden toys, and some nice jewelry. So it’s worth a peek on a rainy day.

Description: The Palabra has been going strong in Boothbay for decades, and it claims the “World’s Largest Collection of Moses Bottles,” which were created for the grand opening of the Poland Spring Hotel in 1876. Ten rooms here are filled with primitives, nautical items, Shaker boxes, fine art glass and china, and estate jewelry. Just don’t bump into anything.
