Long Island is closely affiliated with the number one media market in the United States—New York City. However, in addition to having access to all of the New York City area’s major newspapers, regional magazines, radio stations, television stations, and Web sites with a NYC focus, Long Island also has its own, more localized media outlets.

Description: This newspaper publisher regularly publishes 18 different daily and weekly newspapers, covering 70 communities throughout Nassau County. Description: This is Long Island’s largest and most respected major daily newspaper. 15. Wvvh-Tv (Hamptons Television)

Description: This local television station is dedicated to covering the Hamptons. It broadcasts on UHF channel 50, as well as through many of the region’s local cable TV providers (channel number varies). The station covers local news and events, in addition to human interest stories.
