Description: On Apr 12, 2002, this state-of-the-art theater opened inside the new Oklahoma City Museum of Art. It is appropriate that a theater should open here as the grounds formerly held Oklahoma City’s last downtown movie palace, the Centre Theatre, built in 1947. Since opening, the Noble Theaterhas offered more than 1,000 screenings of the finest independent, foreign-language, and classic films for Oklahoma City audiences. The theater seats 250 and shows films Thurs through Sun. It has a surround-sound system and a green room, where actors or special guests can wait on the north side of the stage. Parents should be aware that many of the films shown here are not rated and may be inappropriate for younger viewers.The Noble Theater participates in the Sundance Art House Project. Twelve art houses throughout the country are chosen to receive and show films in an effort to build audiences for independent films at the local level. Tickets can be purchased at the Noble Theatre box office two hours before show time. Advance tickets may be purchased the same day of the showing (with the exception of Sun) at the museum’s admission desk from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or with a credit card by calling (405) 278-8237. Film tickets do not include entrance to the galleries. Prices are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. If you are a museum member, the ticket price is $5. Dinner and a movie packages are available for $28 per person.
