Relocation - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Relocation

Oklahoma City has many housing options, from apartments to historic mansions. The interstate system that runs around and through Oklahoma City allows you to get from one side of town to the other in about 30 minutes. Want to live in Edmond? You can hop on the Broadway Extension or I-35 and be downtown in about 40 minutes on a busy traffic morning.

No matter where you choose to live, you will have access to hospitals, colleges, and shopping opportunities. On the south side of the city, in Del City or Moore, residents have easy access to the University of Oklahoma in Norman and to Crossroads Mall. On the north side, there are the University of Central Oklahoma, Quail Springs Mall, and hospitals, like Integris Baptist and Mercy. Centrally located are Penn Square Mall, 50 Penn Place, St. Anthony’s Hospital, and Oklahoma City University.

Included in this chapter is a list of the area’s chambers of commerce. These chambers can give you demographics of their cities and provide information about schools and business districts. Many have relocation packages that can be mailed you. Others will direct you to their Web sites where you can peruse information on your own.

In this chapter you will also find a short list of real estate agents. Real estate is doing very well here so there are a number of agencies at your disposal. No matter what your budget is, you will be able to find a home that is right for you. Edmond and Norman are pricier than other locations. Del City, Midwest City, Bethany, Warr Acres, and Yukon have nice homes for families and couples just starting out. Moore has been rebuilt since the tornado of 1999, so if you’re looking for a house around 10 years old, check out this area. Nichols Hills’ prices are higher, but this area has large older homes and they rarely go on the market. You will also find apartment-hunting information in this chapter and some details about what there is in the way of lofts, town houses, and apartments available downtown.

Also in this chapter you will find information on how to apply for a driver’s license and car tags, register to vote, and find a library in your area.

You will find the people who live here friendly; the economy is one of the best in the country; and the city continues to thrive, grow, and expand. As such, let me be the first to welcome you to our city.
