Description: Town and Country, established in 1961, is Oklahoma’s only accredited, nonpublic, full-day K–12 program specifically designed for the needs of children with learning disabilities. Over the years, the school has expanded its program to include students with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and Asperger’s syndrome.The average enrollment is 125, and classes—each with a teacher and assistant—are limited to 12 students. The curriculum covers language arts, math, social studies, and science. There are also programs in music, art, computers, and physical education. Drama, yearbook, architecture, and environmental science are offered to upper school students.The school provides continuity, individual attention, family support, and curriculum modifications to meet individual needs. Curriculum is chosen to accommodate learning abilities and patterns. Speech therapy is available for students needing help in this area.Student admission requirements state that a student must have a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, attention disorder, or Asperger’s syndrome, and have an average to above-average IQ. Tuition ranges from $8,670 to $9,680. Financial aid is available.
