Description: Te Kei’s original restaurant opened in 2002 and quickly became a favorite with Tulsans looking for Asian food with American flair. Te Kei’s 2 opened in 2008. A saltwater aquarium is a nice first sight upon entering this location on the Riverwalk near the Oklahoma Aquarium. In sherbet shades of lime, lemon, and peach with bamboo structures hanging from the ceiling, the casual decor is pleasant without being distracting. Owner Todd Kramer has loaned his initials for the name—and the words mean “special guest.”Thanks to the popularity of the Riverwalk and its proximity to the Oklahoma Aquarium, Te Kei 2’s clientele come not only from all over Tulsa, but all over the region.And they enjoy favorites like the Mongolian beef—sirloin marinated in a secret sauce and stir-fried with mushrooms, red bell peppers, green and white onions, and bean sprouts—and Pearl’s Lemon Chicken. The most popular sushi items are the extra-spicy Dragon Roll—tuna, asparagus, cream cheese, chili paste, avocado, wonton crisps, and green onions—and the Ultimate Roll—crabmeat, tempura shrimp, asparagus, and spicy sauce–topped avocado, massago, and fresh yellowfin tuna. Pace yourself because the bread pudding, studded with white-chocolate chunks and topped with buttered rum sauce, is a must.Te Kei’s 2 offers a full bar and patio dining. Sometimes in summer there’s late-night sushi and live music. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
