Description: The Newport Visual Arts Center showcases the art of many Northwest artists in the 1,000-square-foot Runyan Gallery and the 300-square-foot Upstairs Gallery. Examples of artwork you’ll see at this impressive cultural center include paintings of “The Oregon Territory” by Jim Shull, photography from local photographers, and selected pieces from local glass artists. The William Runyan Gallery hosts 12 shows per year featuring new artists from the Northwest. Admission to the center is free. The Runyan Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and the Upstairs Gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Description: This annual music festival commemorates composer Ernest Bloch who lived and composed on the Oregon Coast from 1940 to 1959. Description: Held the second weekend in May at South Beach State Park, the Glastonbury (pronounced Gloss-on-brie) Renaissance Faire includes over 30 booths that feature unique pieces made by regional artists. This art fair is sponsored by the Oregon Coast Arts Association and has a medieval theme where the myths, history, and legends of this time in history are celebrated. Description: The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts is a nonprofit organization that is part of a national network of local arts agencies that serves the entire coastal region.
