Description: Its location a mile east of Custer places this campground within minutes of many of the Black Hills’ biggest attractions, including Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Memorial, Jewel Cave, and Mount Rushmore. The place has bragging rights to a heated shower house, a spa, and a heated outdoor pool advertised as the Hills’ largest. There’s also space for basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, minigolf, a playground, and an arcade. A convenience store and laundry simplify life on the road. You’ll find 36 sites with full or partial hookups and 30-plus shaded tent sites. There is no dump station, but the management will let you empty your RV holding tank at a vacant full-hookup site if you need to. Water spigots are plentiful, and picnic shelters are available for family reunions or other gatherings. See the Accommodations chapter for information about the 45 cabins and 15 motel units here. The campground opens around mid-Mar if the weather permits, but water might not be available until Apr 1. The place shuts down around mid-Nov, but you probably won’t get a shower here after Oct.
