Description: This gorgeous and fascinating historic home is a charmer. Of Gothic design from the Victorian era (it was built in 1891), it is a tribute to both the success of the rancher/civic leader who built it and the current owners, who lovingly restored it. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, it has seven gables, two staircases, transoms, stained-glass windows, a butler’s pantry, and two rooms and three suites, all quaintly decorated. The mansion is filled with antiques, heirlooms, and lovely old framed prints from the owners’ collection. Breakfast often includes a buttermilk sauce for your pancakes or waffles. You’ll rest well in the gorgeous four-poster king bed in the Evergreen Room. Or you might choose to relax in the gabled-wall Shenandoah Room, which has a Jacuzzi. The Evening Star family suite has two rooms connected by a tiny charming hallway, and the bathroom features an antique claw-foot tub. You may also choose the Rose of Sharon Room or the Morning Dew Room. Whichever room you choose, you’ll enjoy discovering the delightful idiosyncrasies of this historic house. Alcohol use is limited.
